VICKI SMITH
First woman participant in the Motogiro of Italy
The Motogiro of Italy 2001 has been special for many reasons and one of the most exciting was the participation of the first woman at the event. Vicki Smith, born in Florida (USA), crossed the Atlantic to participate in the Motogiro in the Historical Revival class and in 2001 Vicki and her Motobi 125 won 41° place out of 52. A biker since she was a teen-ager, Vicki had been working since 1987 as a professional automobile pilot, then she decided to abandon everything and return to biking. Her first “love” is a Cagiva Alazzurra 650. Vicki has participated in all the historical revival events of the Motogiro, from 2001 to 2005.
